IPv6 (AAAA)

An AAAA record points your domain to an IPv6 address, making your site reachable over the modern internet protocol.

What it is

The internet is gradually moving from IPv4 (addresses like 93.184.216.34) to IPv6, which has a vastly larger address space. An AAAA record is the IPv6 equivalent of an A record — it points your domain to an IPv6 address.

Supporting IPv6 means visitors on IPv6-only networks can reach your site directly, without translation.

Why it matters

IPv6 is not a security issue, but it's a sign of a modern, well-maintained setup and improves reachability as more networks adopt it. Its absence isn't a fault — many sites still run IPv4-only — but adding it future-proofs your domain.
